Magnet Labour Attraction Tool
Magnet is a digital labour platform that uses intelligent matching algorithms to connect
employers with talent and make recruitment easy and efficient. Magnet also offers a new way to
share knowledge through targeted messaging.
Magnet was created at Ryerson University in 2014. It began when someone recognized the unemployment and underemployment of skilled workers in Ontario, particularly recent grads. Since then, it has grown to be a nationwide platform. Magnet works closely with 5 stakeholder groups, including Education, Government, Labour, Not-for-Profit, and Industry, with the intent to establish lasting relationships between these and job seekers. Currently, Magnet boasts:

how it works
Magnet has a built-in Applicant Tracking System (ATS) so that you can easily track your job postings and those who applied. Also, Magnet’s Campus Connect feature gives the platform incredible use. With just one check box, you can instantly post to nearly 100 post-secondary job boards across the country in addition to all the other registered job seekers.
Because of Magnet’s deep relationships with post-secondary institutions, many registrants are close to graduating, freshly graduated, or mature alumni that continue using the platform. This means there are many capable job seekers from around Canada and many of them are willing to move since they haven’t put down roots yet. In other words, Magnet can unearth applicants that other job boards would not.
The Magnet experience is unique thanks to customization. When you create your free account, Magnet will send messaging about grants, wage subsidies, relief programs, policy updates, networking, learning opportunities, and hiring initiatives based on the details you’ve provided.
