La F_d_ration des parents de lН‘le-du-Prince-Дdouard (FP‘PД) is a non-profit organization active in all the Acadian and francophone regions, thanks to its six parent committees. Since its foundation in 1988, the FP‘PД has been promoting and defending those rights as set out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The FP‘PД works on behalf of eligible Acadian, Anglophone and francophone parents and children in Prince Edward Island. It provides financial support to member groups by allocating funds to pre-school centres and the six regions in order to promote awareness of the importance of French education and to promote the right to education as provided for in Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom, which confirms the primary role of education in the development of official language minorities.
