In 1984, the Murchison Foundation was created to assist in providing programs and services for people experiencing mental illness on Prince Edward Island. It reaches this mandate through supporting the Canadian Mental Health Association of Prince Edward Island. The foundation proudly bears the name of Dr. Alexander J. Murchison, a pioneer of mental health services in Prince Edward Island for more than 30 years, until his death in 1961. Dr. Murchison was dedicated to serving the mentally ill and his tireless efforts brought great progress in treatment facilities to our province. BingoWorld PEI has two locations in Charlottetown and Summerside. Proceeds from bingos go to further Murchison’s mandate of supporting mental health programs and services for Islanders. |
